A day in the life

Here's an inside look into the start of the day for James and The Giant Cupcake. These pictures are taken in the huge commercial kitchen that I bake in. This order was for 4 dozen mini Hostess with the Mostess cupcakes.

********** It's 2010 !!**********

Happy New Year! 2010! Finallly! It's been a while since I've posted my latest cupcake adventures. My computer refused to upload any pictures, which I guess is actually my fault for jam packing my hard drive. As for cupcakes, wheww, December was the busiest month so far. It was fun creating holidays cupcakes, trying out new recipes( Chocolate Peppermint cupcakes & Gingerbread cupcakes !) and a big thanks to everyone that ordered James and The Giant Cupcake for holiday festivities. As for the new year, I 'm brewing up new flavors( more vegan & gluten free cupcakes), working on the website( it's coming soon ;) and aiming for the farmer's market( stay posted for location) . It's all very exciting. Here's a look back at the holiday season~

Fuzzy

This is my nephew's pet, more so a friend, Fuzzy. He told me that Fuzzy likes cupcakes, so we gave him a cupcake.

Well, Fuzzy may like cupcakes, but he wasn't hungry. So my nephew ate his cupcake. Mmm

A new flavor

I've been wanting to experiment with raspberries and I think I was pretty successful. I paired pumpkin cupcakes with raspberry& white chocolate cupcakes filled with raspberry jam...... a perfect duo for the holiday season.

New Treasure

Not too long ago my father gave me the best gift- My grandmother's typewriter when she was a journalist in the 1950's-60's. I just love old typewriters>#@^! they're so classy. All I needed to do was replace the ribbon and I was ready to type my first novel. haha, not really, but I do love the gold decal, 'Woodstock' on the paper table( typewriter lingo). I let my mind wander and soon I was baking tie-dye cupcakes( maybe it was the whole 'Woodstock' thing).

All that glitters is ............

That's right! Gold was the theme for the art gallery opening I catered. Serena Cole was the featured artist in her first solo exhibition. Her art is captivating, mysterious and just breathtaking( she is brilliant with watercolors!) View her exhibition at the Triple Base Gallery in San Francisco through December 20~
